4th place for U16 young wolves in Wolkersdorf
On Saturday evening the 2nd Wein4tel Indoor Cup of ASV Asparn took place on the Zaya. The Wolves sent the U16 team to the women's tournament in Weinviertel, which performed bravely as the youngest team in the tournament. With three draws against group opponents Großrußbach,äßenspeigen and Horn II, they finished Group B in second place and met hosts and organizers ASV Asparn/Zaya in the placement game for third place. This duel also ended in a draw after regular time, meaning both teams went into extra time. This was played using the golden goal system, with one player from both teams having to leave the field every minute. In the end, the hosts from the Weinviertel had the upper hand and secured third place. The overall winner was SKN group opponent USVG Großrußbach, who also prevailed in the final in extra time against Brunn am Gebirge.
For SKN women's youth leader Walter Oberschlick, fourth place is an absolutely satisfactory result: “If you look at the fact that we were by far the youngest team, the girls played a strong tournament and performed admirably. I am very satisfied with the performance at this tournament!” said Oberschlick.
